Zack Torquato spent most of the 2010-11 season with the Toledo Walleye, the IceHogs' ECHL affiliate. There he racked up 44 points (11G, 33A) in 54 games while having a +3 +/- rating.

He was recalled by the Hogs on February 26th and again on March 17th, a day after being sent back down, because of injuries to some forwards. He didn't get big minutes, but they were serviceable ones. The former Erie Otter has good speed, too. As more players got healthy and guys came up from juniors and college, Torquato got bumped out of the lineup and was a scratch.

Torquato's contract is up this summer. The Hogs could re-sign him, but there would be a chance he'll be in Toledo again with the depth of centers the Hogs are projected to have. If that's the case, he'd always be a good choice for a callup. But, it would be nice to see what he could do with more ice time with the Hogs. He has good potential to be a pretty good disher and centerman with the club.
